Reath/Saint Oyant Studio is located in Pasadena's historic Bungalow
Heaven. Designed for a painter and professor couple, the building contains
a small light filled office for the husband, who works part of the week
at home, a high ceiling painting studio, and storage for gardening tools.
The studio contains operable skylights, for natural light and ventilation,
large garage doors for the artist's tallest works and stacking storage
for her canvasses. Overhangs and porches allow the couple to utilize
the three main portions as part of the integrated complex. The building
passes the strict requirements of the historical district and met the
functional needs of the owners. |
