Webster Elementary School included modernization to the existing 54,000 sf main building and the replacement of portables with a new library and five classroom wings. The scope of the work included surveying existing building conditions, master planning and analysis. The library is focal point of the new wing and is anchored by an octagonal tower which is the early school reading area. One of the key parameters was to preserve the beloved facade of the existing main building and intergrate it with the new technological infrastructure, meeting the demands of the current educational standards. The roof and gables of the library are designed to reflect prominent features of the existing main building.
